RE-FORM. Performative Arts Lab 2026

RE-FORM. Performative Arts Lab is a collaborative project between Dnipro Art College (Dnipro, Ukraine), the theater collective Futur 3, and the Sommerblut Cultural Festival (Cologne). It aims to strengthen education in the performing arts through international exchange. It connects students and faculty from Dnipro Art College with German theater professionals from Futur 3 and Sommerblut.

The project kicked off in February 2026 with a series of online workshops for students in Dnipro, curated by Futur 3 and Sommerblut. In March, Mariana Sadovska and André Erlen (Futur 3) visited the students in Dnipro and led hands-on workshops. In May, a group of students will finally come to North Rhine-Westphalia and Cologne for a residency. Here, they will visit the Theater Oberhausen, the Theater Moers, the Alanus University of Applied Sciences in Bonn, and, to conclude the residency, the Sommerblut Culture Festival in Cologne.

In this way, the students gain practical experience with European theater practices and develop the confidence to work in an inclusive, collaborative, and reflective manner in their future careers.

The project is part of the RHIZOM/RAZOM program of the Ukrainian Institute in Germany. The program is funded by the Federal Foreign Office and carried out in cooperation with Insha Osvita.
