What It’s All About
“It doesn’t matter how old you are. It doesn’t matter where you’re from or what gender you are. The question is simply this: Are you a person of solidarity, or are you a jerk?” – Heidi Reichinnek
What has actually become of SOLIDARITY? Why does it suddenly seem to be out of fashion again? A performative search for cohesion, courage, and hope: Building on the achievements of social and sexual freedom movements, young people ask questions about a present marked by fear, misanthropy, and growing division. What does…
SOLIDARITY today – personal, political, social?
SOLIDARITY is unity.
SOLIDARITY is love for one’s neighbor.
SOLIDARITY is self-love.
SOLIDARITY means courage.
SOLIDARITY means hope.
SOLIDARITY simply means: DON’T BE AN ASSHOLE.
Why you need to come
Autocracy or participatory decision-making? Working together or at cross-purposes? The common good or selfishness? Young people and actors embark together on a radical, honest, and emotional quest for solidarity. The production combines performative research, personal stories, and social analysis into an intense evening of theater by and with young people. An evening that leaves no audience member unmoved and asks how we want to live together.
Psst!
A performative laboratory project by Theaterblackbox Köln in collaboration with the Sommerblut Cultural Festival—developed with young people to explore the state of our society.
