What It’s All About
In times of growing social tensions, the question arises as to what role art and culture can play in fostering social cohesion, visibility, and social responsibility. With the panel discussion on this year’s festival theme—“Solidarity Under Pressure: Responsibility in Culture”—we aim to hear diverse perspectives on this topic.
Why you should come
On the panel, figures from the worlds of cultural work and activism will discuss solidarity in practice within the cultural sector: among them festival director Rolf Emmerich, activist and diversity officer Joana Peprah, and Tina Sanders from the Cologne-based association mittendrin e. V. Together, they’ll talk about how cultural institutions can take on responsibility, what challenges currently exist, and how solidarity-based structures can emerge in practice.
Pssst!
The panel discussion kicks off the Sommerblut anniversary weekend at the Schauspiel, which will delve deeply into questions of solidarity, inclusion, and social responsibility.
