What it's all about
The “FORWARD DANCE COMPANY” takes a critical and personal look at one of the most famous works of classical ballet: Swan Lake. The dancers with different backgrounds and physicalities engage with the iconic piece and its history.
SULLE SPONDE DEL LAGO opens up spaces of mindfulness and care, of repair and renewal, of fragility and perfection: spaces in which our ideas of norms can encounter new narratives.
Why should you come?
Swan Lake - set to music by Tchaikovsky - is one of the most famous works of classical ballet and thus stands for a certain idealized image of the body. It still shapes our viewing habits and expectations of dance today. The six dancers play with these expectations. They weave their experiences and voices - humorous and loud or quiet and threatening - into the piece. The result is a multi-layered mosaic that has a different effect depending on the perspective.
